Imagine you weren't so hard on yourself for feeling guilt or shame or any of those feelings we're taught to avoid.
This book helps you recognize that whatever you're feeling needs healing and to embrace the little child in you that very much needs your help.
It's packed with mantras to say when addressing sadness, anger, or resentment, for example. The author Matt Kahn teaches you to get what you need from the people who never gave it to you, but from yourself - the only person who can give it.
It's a beautiful book that helps you to love all aspects of you.
Some of my favorite sentences.
"Requiring anyone to meet you where you are is an easy way to forget the unique journey of others."
"While many spiritual students work ferociously to relinquish attachments to past experiences, such attachments can't be dissolved until the one who grips the past has been fully accepted and adored."
"Instead of seeing all people who lash out, verbally assault, judge, or criticize, you can recognize such behavior as desperate ways their innocence cries out for the attention they don't know how to give themselves."
"…the spiritual purpose of compliments acts as a selfless blessing of appreciation that reminds others how much they are valued."
